Can I transfer unused lessons to a friend or family member? Yes, you may transfer any unused lesson credits to a friend or family member. They will have to indicate on the registration that they will be using your lesson credits, and we will need prior notification from you that you wish to transfer those credits. The notification can be emailed to info@vdsi.ca |
Do you offer a student or senior discount? At this time, we do not offer student or senior discounts. |
Where can I make payment? You can make a payment via the website, e-transfer to info@vdsi.ca, or credit card over the phone. |
When should I make payment? Is there a late payment fee? Please ensure to make a payment before your first scheduled lesson. A late fee of $60.00 may be applied for late payments. |
Do you offer installment plans? Yes, we offer installments plans for our packages that offer 15 hours or more of instruction. Please send an email to info@vdsi.ca after registering for more information on how to arrange an installment plan. |
Do lessons expire? Yes, lessons expire 18 months from the date of purchase |
Do you offer lessons on weekends and into the evenings? Yes, we do offer lessons on weekends and evening times. However, due to high demand, it is recommended that you book weekend slots well in advance by up to 2-3 weeks, especially during the Summer. We also do not book past 6:00 pm during from November and early spring due to shorter days for safety purposes. |
Can I take multiple lessons per week? Yes, but lesson frequency is subject to availability. If you have a rather flexible availability, there is a higher possibility that we can accommodate more than one lesson per week. If you are available only on weekends or late afternoons/evenings, we will likely only be able to accommodate you once a week. |
Do you book the road test for me? Yes, we can book the road test for you. There is a $100.00 road test monitoring fee that is required to be paid first before we can begin booking the road test for you. However, we recommend that you book your road test on your own time. |

Do I still need to fill out the “Online Registration Form” if I was booked over the phone/over email through the “Contact Us” Form? Yes, we ask that you fill out the registration form. Please indicate however that you have already scheduled a lesson over the phone. |
I forgot my license! Can I still reschedule my lesson? Yes, you can reschedule your lesson, but a rescheduling fee of $75.00 needs to be paid prior to us rescheduling the lesson for you. |
I got sick! Can I still reschedule my lesson? Yes, you can reschedule your lesson, but a reduced rescheduling fee of $50.00 needs to be paid prior to us rescheduling the lesson for you. |
Do you offer home pick up? Yes, we do offer pickup and drop off services if your address is within our catchment area. We do not pick up in the following areas:

Do you offer a car rental for the road test? Yes, we do offer to rent out our vehicles for road test usage. However, it is always paired with a 50-minute warm up. |
Do you teach in Richmond/New Westminster/Surrey/North Vancouver? No, at this time we only instruct in the central Vancouver area and West Burnaby. |
Where do you recommend booking your road test? We recommend booking either Vancouver Point Gray or Vancouver Kingsway. We can accommodate road tests in both Burnaby locations, however. |
How early should I start booking lessons? This depends on your availability. If you have a rather strict availability, we recommend booking as early as possible to ensure that you can book the slots which work best for you. If you have flexible availability, there is not as much urgency to book/register in advance. |
Can I pick who my instructor is? If you have an instructor you would like to work with, please indicate that in your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate your request. |
What if I don’t like my instructor? Can I get a different instructor? If for whatever reason you would like to switch instructors, please send an email requesting the change. We will accommodate that change as soon as possible. |
Do I still need to wear a mask? At this time, you are not required to wear a face mask. |
Do you teach international students? Yes, we do teach international students who possess either a valid study permit or a work permit. |
What do I need to bring to every lesson? Please bring your physical license. Digital/printed photocopies are unacceptable and will result in no lesson and no refund for the lesson. A rescheduling fee would be required to be paid to reschedule the lesson as well. If your license indicates that you need glasses/contacts for driving, please also ensure to bring those. |
Do you keep me with the same instructor or do I get a different instructor for every lesson? Yes, we do our best to keep you with the same instructor for every lesson unless there is an emergency or some extenuating circumstance. |
Does the school provide a car for lessons? Yes, the school provides a vehicle for all lessons. |
Can I use my own car for lessons? Due to safety and liability concerns, we only instruct in school vehicles at this time. |
What sort of vehicle does the school teach in? We teach in Toyota Corollas, 2016 and newer. |
